Grape Variety: Field blend of Rufete 20%, Touriga Franca 15%, Alicante Bouschet 10%, Tinta Carvalha 10% & Others

Alcohol: 13% vol.

Producer Notes: The two vineyards were vinified separately with 100% whole cluster. Vinification was done with indigenous  yeast and nothing was added. Total maceration of 29 days. After  pressing, the wines were aged in used  225L French oak barrels for 20 months. The malolactic fermentation took place in open old wood port vats.  All grapes are from vines aged over 80 years  located at 400 to 570 meters in altitude.  

Tasting Notes: This Xisto Cru has the winery's familiar style—mid-palate finesse, tightly wound with a powerful finish, perfect balance and controlled fruit. They mostly need a couple of extra years in the cellar and will age well. This has plenty of power, but Seabra's reds are never just about mindless power. They taste great, too; you just have to let them evolve a bit.”
