Grape Variety: Field blend of Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, Rufete ,Tinta Barroca, Malvasia Preta, Donzelinho Tinto

Alcohol: 12.5% vol.

Producer Notes: Grapes were harvested between September 18th and October 5th. 40% of the grapes were fermented in Lagar with whole cluster and foot trodden with a total maceration of up to 10 days, the remaining 60% were fermented with whole cluster in stainless steel tanks with a total maceration of 20 to 30 days. Both wines aged for 14 months in used French oak barrels. All grapes are from 35 to 60 year old vines.

Tasting Notes: For the entry level here, this has respectable concentration, nice structure and a very serious, dry feel to it. The tannins are ripe, to be sure, but you can still feel them on the finish. It can certainly hold well for several years. This should be a very nice house pour at a nice price.
