Producer Notes:  Mono C (Monovaritel Castelao) grapes were 100% whole cluster foot trodden in square containers. Total  maceration was 25 days and aged was aged for 16 months in used 500L French oak  barrels. Malolactic  fermentation was in the in barrels.  All grapes are  from vineyards aged over 25+ years  from a  single vineyard in Oliveira, planted in clay loam soil with predominance of yellow slate 490m altitude.  

Tasting Notes: “This grape takes on darker overtones. Luis points This is due to his Douro terroir. Overall, it seems perfectly balanced, powerful, with a gripping finish. I loved the freshness here, even with flavor profile of those tasty red fruits. It should improve with a couple of years of cellaring.”
