Producer Notes:  Mono A (Monovaritel Alfrocheiro ) grapes were 40% whole cluster foot trodden in square containers. Total  maceration was 26 days and aged was aged for 14 months in used 3000L French oak  barrels. Malolactic  fermentation was in the in barrels.  All grapes are  from vineyards aged over 35+ years  from a  single vineyard in  Vila Nova  de Tazem , planted in clay loam soil with predominance of yellow slate 490m altitude.  

Alfrocheiro is a very aromatic variety when harvest early, keeps well the acidity and in general have soft tannins.

Tasting Notes: “Simply delicious, this is an Alfrocheiro with marvelous structure, tightly wound and powerful, but laced with black cherries and raspberries. It is precise and focused. This still has some things to prove in the cellar.   A wine with exceptional mid-palate finesse, crispness and precision.”
