Producer Notes: Vila das Rainhas Ginja d’Óbidos is an award-winning Portuguese sour cherry liqueur celebrated for its rich, velvety flavour. Widely regarded as one of Portugal’s finest and most authentic ginjas, it stands as a benchmark for classic, high-quality Ginja d’Óbidos.

Vila das Rainhas ginja liqueur is crafted according to ancient tradition, without added colourings or flavourings. The sour cherries are carefully picked, sorted, and infused with alcohol in steel vats, where they age until fully mature.

Tasting Notes: Bright cherry red colour with some macerated cherries. Pure and spicy nose of cherry, almond, pepper and cinnamon. Sweet and heady palate, juicy cherry flavours, liqueur with plenty of spice and warmth. Contains whole cherries with pits inside the bottle.

Serving: Can be served as an aperitif or digestive, with desserts or enjoyed on its own. There are many other cocktail and cooking options.

In Portugal, ginja is served chilled or at room temperature in a small edible dark chocolate cup. Sip the liqueur first, then bite into the chocolate cup and enjoy.
